Did you hear Kathryn Limbaugh on the radio with Mark Steyn? That must have been grueling to do, but she was absolute grace and warmth. Please keep her, the entire Limbaugh family, and the EIB family in your prayers. They need them now - more than ever!
I dunno. The entire book is a mystery to me.
I’m not interested in ‘revenge’. I don’t think Jesus taught that the desire to be ‘avenged’ was a good desire to harbor, either.
God gave us what he gave us, and expects us to work with it.
I was just looking at it from the standpoint that those martyrs were aware of earthly happenings...
I don’t think we know that any of the disciples were seers of the temporal future - or that they didn’t ‘elaborate’ in their writings on what they claimed had come from Jesus.
(And I suspect that much of the New Testament is taken literally, when it should be taken more symbolically. I don’t think Revelations really pertains to the collective ‘future’ of the populations of Earth, but to the inner spiritual life of the individual. That’s really all Jesus was about.)
“If Heaven really exists or it’s just a bunch of words written by men in a book called the bible.......”
But oh, what a incredible and unique book the Bible is. The actual written Word of the living God. Unbelievers cannot innately know that though, since they are spiritually dead to the things of God. Jesus stands at the door and knocks, people can open the door to Him and know all sorts of things that are missing in an unbelievers life.
