Kathryn (on the Rush Revere books): “I did do the majority of the writing, but Rush was right there throughout the entire process, and every point of it we did, in a way, together and it was a huge project of both of our lives.”
Program plays clip of Rush talking about the books.
YES...nice to hear the back story
The show took off like a rocket and I think that KDKA picked it up live.
I've listened to Rush, been a 24/7 subscriber, newsletter user, and have enjoyed all 33 years.
My kids and grandkids are all Rush babies and my grandkids will miss him the most.
None of them "listened to Rush" via radio, but they all subscribed to his podcasts or what ever the hell they do with those iphones.
My 19 year old granddaughter, and NRA member and a rifle shooter, really appreciated his backing of the 2nd Amendment.
She has been shooting since she was 8 years old and is the best shot in the family and wears her "lucky Rush Limbaugh 2013 ball cap" when she is on the range.
Rush will be so missed by all of us.
“Yes, she’s great. She’s telling a nice story about RUSH that he really didn’t discuss.”
Yes...She is adding so much depth to the person of Rush-—things Rush was too modest or single-minded to share.
I look at his picture and I can hear/feel his voice. What a gift he was.
I got to speak to Rush twice. I could not believe I got through!
When I told him my name I even got the “Kristen is in my list of top ten female names”. Doesn’t get much better than that!
You did a great job, Biggirl.
Rush’s all time favorite cat, Pumkin. He must be holding her now that he is home.
So happy Rush found Katherine. She has a beautiful voice. I know she will keep ‘The Company Business’ going. :)
I saw them, too. Excellent.
So right you are; me as well.
I hope there really be a Rush museum .
One of the first times I listened to Rush, he was criticizing labor unions explaining how looking out for the best interests of the people they represent is not their primary function. Sure enough a woman called him trying to take him to task over his remarks. She condescendingly stated, you just want to go back to the days when signs were hung up in the factories that said “if you don’t show up for work on Sunday don’t bother coming to work on Monday”. To which Rush replied, no, not at all. I would like to see signs up in the factories saying “if you don’t show up for work on Sunday, be prepared to go to jail on Monday”. I swear I damn near drove off the road LMAO.
Doing more reflection. I do remember the times when Rush would say, “Do not doubt me”, when he was taking on the left. Also when Rush would do a number of the parity songs, including “The Phalender”. I will not forget Mr. Bo Snerderly, Rush’s “wing” man.
Katherine, I just want to say THANK-YOU for all the years both you and Rush have been married. Thank-you Rush for having a wonderful love of you life. And thank-you Katherine taking the time to come on the air to be with Mark Steyn.
Kathryn said they will continue the Rush Revere series-—it was part of Rush’ and Kathryn’s original plan.
And, they are also considering a cartoon that focuses on American history as well.
Dittoes to that.
In answer to a question about a charity in Rush’ honor:
Kathryn said Rush did not designate a specific memorial charity, but Kathryn mentioned The Marine Corp Law Enforcement Foundation (one close to his heart)-—and this foundation is setting up a scholarship in Rush’ name.
Playing Elton John, they must have been sooo happy. I’m happy for what they found, just beautiful. He was right, just a loveable fuzzball.
