You are correct ... it has been GOPe Republicans in office, in Texas for decades that pushed ‘green’ energy... Do not expect any of then to step up and admit they are responsible for the frozen pipes/ ruined floors. Then we need to spread this information around to everyone we know so enough Texans understand what their incompetent representatives have done to all of us. We need laws that demand if any company takes federal grants to subsidized a wind farm they are required to on their own dime, have reliable power generation from coal, natural gas or nuclear at the ready that can be used to back up their unreliable energy in an emergency situation.

I dont know how that can work from an engineering perspective, but there needs to be some legislation that makes it economically painful to accept the FEDERAL green subsidies.
