In the past, if the power was out it was because ice, a tornado, or some such had physically tore up lines. This was the first time in Texas history that the power was shut down because they couldn’t generate it.

Yes power generation capacity is different in Texas just even in the last five years. The green energy subsidies have ended up causing much more of our power to be supplied by “unreliable” energy (the name he give to green energy such as wind and solar), which is fine to use as a backup, but not to rely on in critical times such as extreme cold or extreme heat. We have less power generation capacity from reliable energy (Coal, natural gas and nuclear) now combined with more demand because our population has grown, so it’s a very critical situation.
