Collective condemnation based on a shared trait is immoral, idiotic and unamerican. You can’t name any race, nation, religion, or ethnicity that hasn’t produced a person or group that hasn’t committed an outrage against humanity. We didn’t hang every German for the holocaust, or everyone in Japan for war crimes. I have never owned a slave nor had any ancestors who did. I refuse to be held responsible for crimes committed centuries ago by people who just happen to be of the same skin pigmentation as me.

Back in the day, my roommates ad I would call for the 9 PM Minority Scan on the cable TV (back when it was 50 channels and you actually had a TV-top box. In those days and in private company, the language was a little more salty.) Sure enough, we felt like Martians visiting Earth. If you wanted MTV, you didn't bother visiting MTV. You went to VH1, which is now little more than a simulcast of MTV. If you wanted Dukes of Hazzard, you went to the WB. After 10 PM. That '17% of the population", as you pointed out, is now 50% of the programming. Which is another reason we cut the cord. Social backwash from the sewage treatment plant.
