Lot of truth in this 10 minute video.
Those who were around in the summer of 1971 can relate.
I was 15. When I think back to those days it almost makes me cry. That America has vanished.
was in Stumps in 70. promoted to Lance there. orders cut for Nam there. Got out of Nam and Active Duty 50 years ago this May...we were young once...
Semper Fi
All my classmates but me were 17 that summer of 71 (class of 72). I was 16 and 3 mo. Worked Saturdays for my older bro who was a church janitor, and volunteered weekday afternoons at the Humane Society. I discovered one of the longest-enduring loves of my life that summer: Taco Bell ... hell, I even bought their “Bell Burger”.
1 was born in 67.....thank god
Amen, my FRiend.
We have have basically been straight down hill (culturally) since then.
Born in 67??
What’s a young kid like you doing up so late on the computer!

I was born in ‘56. It’s Saturday night. I can stay up late if if I want to. So there! :-)
Bet those last ten years just flew right by huh ETL?
NOT looking forward to it..
And I, 27...
Yes, time does definitely seem to be going by much faster now. I use to think that was all in the mind, but it really isn’t. Because a year to us then was a lot more a percentage of our lives then it is now.
i am still young at heart...until l look in the mirror.
Which i try to avoid... :)
a week now seems like 3 days..
On Sunday mornings the local radio station has been playing Beatles for what seems like decades now.
I hear it on the drive home from work and i think that it was only a few days ago that i heard it last.
I’ll be 6 feet under before i know it
UGH
My second car was a 1968 Coupe DeVille. My first car was a 1969 Buick GS 400. Both cars had vinyl roofs. I bought them in the very early 80s when I was in my late teens. The Gran Sport set me back $800. In 1971 I was riding a single speed bicycle with a banana seat. Not a chopper, though.
Summer of ‘71... just before Boot Camp.

My famous quote. ā Iām recreating the 1970s with my kids ā

Had a 72 cutlass convertible with retractable top and V8 rocket 350 !
I was 10 too. My brother 11. He had a banana yellow bike just like that. Mine was pink. We road all over town. Great fun!
I wish we would. Have kept those bikes!
I liked TJ Swann Mellow Days but I was only 10 in 71 so a few years later.
Great songs. I can sing every one of them!
