A meme circulating on social media makes a series of misleading claims about Somali-born Ilhan Omar, who serves as a Representative for Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives, including the false claim that she has been “arrested 23 times”. This article will argue that these allegations presented in the meme are false. Opinions presented in the meme are out of scope of this article.

In a previous article (here), Reuters addressed allegations, made without evidence, that Omar married her brother to help him gain American citizenship. In 2016, Omar issued a statement in which she clarified the timeline of her marital history and called the rumors “baseless”, “false and ridiculous.” (here)
As reported by Business Insider here , there is no hard evidence that Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, who she legally married in 2009 based on her statement, (here) is her brother or that Omar committed fraud.
Business Insider highlighted “some puzzling discrepancies and inconsistencies in her marriage history.”
For example, in June 2019, Minnesota’s CFB found that Omar filed “tax returns stating she was married to one man [Ahmed Hirsi] when, in fact, she was married to another [Ahmed Elmi],” according to CBS Local Minnesota, “amid an investigation into allegations of misuse of campaign funds.” (here)

If there has ever been a claim that she was arrested 23 times, it came from a “false flag” fake news site. The Left deploys this trick at least once a week. Sad part is that it either fools outfits like Reuters, or they are complicit.
She was probably arrested more times that would make your head spin.

She did marry her brother, but not to get him citizenship, to get him a green card.
They can do complete investigations and still lie yet they cannot discuss SYSTEMIC VOTE FRAUD.

Ilhan Omar got elected because of the way our current political system works.
She is what I would call a boutique candidate. Someone who was selected by the party to match what careful analysis of her district say they wanted. The party either finds someone that matches or they create someone and then tailor their campaign to say what their voters want to hear.
Think of Congress like it is a Amway distributorship. There are a lot of individuals at the bottom and few at the top. The ones at the bottom don’t get to make management decision, their job is to “sell” the product, and that product is the message those at the top want to get out.
Both parties do this but the Democrats are a little better at it.

My bet is that Reuters is the only source of 23 arrests rumor, solely to pair it with the immigration felonies and claim debunked on both to obscure her blatant felonies that would have gotten any of us arrested , charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent.
Why, because you were duped?
