So is tough love. This happened quite a while ago. Life isn’t fair, and he learned it first hand. A fun bible word search is to search the word, “fair”. My wife’s first husband died of Leukemia in the late 70’s leaving her with three kids under age 8 and no life insurance. That wasn’t fair either, but she moved on. Her middle child is now a multi-millionaire and the others are doing extremely well too.

If she had thrown a self-pity party that may not have happened.

Discretion also means you don’t use the death of your child to cow people into silence. It’s using a human shield. It’s a method of bullying people into silence. Glad the Republican had the stones to call him on it.
