Sicilians have been eaten “broccolini” for years..
In Sicilian Dialogue it’s called Broccoli Rabe, or Rappini

Rapini/broccoli rabe is a relative of turnips. They refer to a broccoli mixed with gai lan in this article. But there are actually more than one vegetable known as broccolini, but they are all related.

Rapini is great, if you like the bitter flavor, which I do.
