Maybe Rush Limbaugh's Funeral Should be like Victor Hugo's on June 1, 1885 in Paris, France.

Hugo's death from pneumonia on 22 May 1885, at the age of 83, generated intense national mourning. He was not only revered as a towering figure in literature, he was a statesman who shaped the Third Republic and democracy in France. All his life he remained a defender of liberty, equality and fraternity as well as an adamant champion of French culture. In 1877, aged 75, he wrote, "I am not one of these sweet-tempered old men. I am still exasperated and violent. I shout and I feel indignant and I cry. Woe to anyone who harms France! I do declare I will die a fanatic patriot".[59]

Although he had requested a pauper's funeral he was awarded a state funeral by decree of President Jules Grévy. More than two million people joined his funeral procession in Paris from the Arc de Triomphe to the Panthéon, where he was buried. He shares a crypt within the Panthéon with Alexandre Dumas and Émile Zola. Most large French towns and cities have a street or square named after him.

Hugo left five sentences as his last will, to be officially published:

Je donne cinquante mille francs aux pauvres. Je veux être enterré dans leur corbillard. Je refuse l'oraison de toutes les Églises. Je demande une prière à toutes les âmes. Je crois en Dieu.

I leave 50,000 francs to the poor. I wish to be buried in their hearse. I refuse [funeral] orations from all Churches. I demand a prayer to all souls. I believe in God.

For those missing Rush, here is a YouTube video of his television program. Sort of a “best of” show and its still as funny today as it was then....

I think a funeral like Einar’s would be appropriate. Not all warriors fight with swords or axes.

I haven’t seen anything in the press about plans for Rush’s Memorial/Funeral Services. Have any of you heard anything?

I think Rush and Elton John had a unique friendship if not mutual respect. It would blow the left’s mind if he would do a Rush Limbaugh version of, “Candle in the Wind.”

No flags at half staff, no state funeral, and only people in Texas have dimmed their lights to honor Limbaugh.

Unfortunately, America in 2021 is not the same as France in 1885. A public funeral for Rush would be met with disgusting leftist interruptions. I’m not saying don’t do it. I am saying there would be problems.

As we all know, today’s left is intolerant, fascist, and brutal. Nothing is off-limits for them.

Rush would deserve such a funeral, one full of pageantry, grandeur, military on horseback and other details of righteous pride. However, this is 2021, so I would expect any such funeral to be crawling with the uninvited, unsympathetic, uncompromisingly violent Liberals.

It would be like a fly attracted to a freshly made jelly sandwich.
They would find it hard to resist the lure of a memorial full of people who loved and still agree with Rush.
All this is to remind anyone who is planning any sort of Rush Memorial, then you just better also plan for hiring protection from the BLM and Antifa types too.
Don’t be naive enough to think ‘No One Would Dare!’.
Maybe they won’t, but as The Boy Scouts used to say “Be prepared” regardless.

Maybe Elton John could play Funeral for a Friend.

Shamefully, Victor Hugo’s following generations became surrender monkeys.

I have noticed that Biden has said NOTHING about Rush’s death.

Such a small, petty man.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. There’d be BLM and Antifa hoodlums all over the place.

I posted this yesterday—imagining a funeral like President Reagan’s.
