The headline is deceiving.From the article:
Around 50% of patients who have been hospitalized with severe COVID-19 and who show raised levels of a protein called troponin have damage to their hearts.
OF COURSE those with high levels of troponin could have damage. That’s what they check to see when people come in with chest pain. Troponin and heart attacks go together.
Another reason why one cannot trust media reporters and writers of today. One xlnt reason for most the postings on this board...so many ways of observing events. There needs to be a grouo of writers who are organized and can dissect all the false left wing and bleeding heart liberal reporting. Nice catch by the way.
Troponin can be elevated for other reasons too though-renal disease, congestive heart failure and myocarditis for example. I would be curious to see the age distribution of these test subjects. It would be interesting to see if there were any 20-40 year olds in there.
