I read about a man up near Abilene, TX who froze to death in his recliner. His wife who was found by his side is barely alive. What happened? Were they living far away from neighbors? Did no one care to check on them? No neighbors, family, church members, pastor, priest, friends? I'd like to think we can learn something from such tragedies. When God called out Cain about his brother Abel, what did insolent Cain say to the Lord? "Am I my brother's keeper?" What is the answer to that question? Some of us live right next store to neighbors we don't even know, myself included. Here I say to myself, have a care.
Their reply was, “I just want to be your neighbor, not your friend.”
WHAT KIND OIF PERSON SAYS SUCH?.................
Maybe you've been lucky with neighbors.
Or maybe you're the type they moved away from.
Commies and other sorts of tyrants think that others don't have a right to exist without their permission, and their directives on how to live, how to speak (or not), what to wear, what to drive, what to think, how to vote, etc., etc., etc.
Did they take him to the hospital for Cash-for-Covid?
Makes me wonder why they don’t live in the country. Probably skeered of a booger bear.
We have a get away home in Windber, PA...
Still that way...
Like Jack Sparrow said "Take all you can, give nothing back."
Where is this at? The most excitement we have is barking dogs.
Central Florida.
“What gets me is they are retired Air Force, both husband and wife. Not typical behavior for ex military...................”
Maybe they were Green Badgers in an MOS that selected for introverts. I used to do that as a civilian; I’m still very stand-offish retired.
It all depends on what you’re used to. Thirty years ago I was in Miami Beach when it dropped to 48 degrees in a cold snap, and two people froze to death.
In our tiny NY town we used to live in we were on very good terms with one our next door neighbors.
We got along well with the others and everyone kind of kept an eye out on each other without being nosy or prying.
It really was a good neighborhood.
Here in NH we can’t even see the neighbor’s house. However we are prepared for cold and power outages and are not in danger of freezing to death.
You mean like my neighbor, an Episcopal, asked me what church a belonged to. Then told me (a catholic) she never would have moved here had she known so many Catholics lived here. It makes her uncomfortable.
It happens. Elderly neighbor and her adult daughter froze to death in their home many years ago. My mom had brought them a hot meal a few days before.
Their reply was, “I just want to be your neighbor, not your friend.”

Mr. Rogers?
There are some questions I never ask. “What’s your religion?” is one of them...................
ISWYDT.................
“”””A special kind of person......definitely has something to hide..... Do you see him digging in his backyard late at night?””””
One time my neighbor lady came over and knocked on my door. She said she hasn’t seen my girlfriend around for several days. Was wondering where she was. I told her flat out that I buried her in the backyard. For a minute there I think she believed me.
A former elderly neighbor of mine would stare at my boys while they played in the back yard. He was waiting for them to do something wrong so he could complain to me about it. I told my boys to just stop and face him and stare back until he stopped. He stopped that behavior real fast.
She asked me what church was I joining. As in what parish. There are more than one Catholic and Episcopal churches where we live.
We have one of each denomination in Christendom.
And a multiplicity of Baptist churches.
A Russian immigrant co-worker at my daughter’s job once asked why so many Baptist churches, but only one or at most two of the others?
The answer:
Whenever a Baptist church gets a new pastor, half the congregation will not like him and so go off and form their own church.................
Those booger bears...they’re the WORST!
