The White House said the president supports the legislation to set up a commission to "study and consider a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery."
early 180 Democratic lawmakers have signed on to legislation that would form a 13-member commission to study slavery reparations at a cost of $12 million.
The Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans Act was reintroduced in the new session of Congress and now has 162 Democratic co-sponsors in the House and 17 Democratic co-sponsors in the Senate. The Senate version was introduced by New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker. The bill was first introduced by former Michigan Democratic Rep. John Conyers in 1989.
The legislation seeks to "address the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States and the 13 American colonies between 1619 and 1865 and to establish a commission to study and consider a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery." The 13 colonies were under the control of Great Britain until the U.S. gained its independence in 1776.

The Democrat party in the South perpetuated slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, deed covenants, the KKK, lynching and undying hatred for the unfortunate descendants of people brought here in chains.
The Republican party ended all that.
So I agree completely that the Democrat party - as a singular group - pay massive reparations to the people they denigrated for over a century.

My granddad had black employees working his pecan orchard on the Flint River. They were paid, housed and fed well. And they could eat all the squirrels they could shoot.
I met a couple of them when I was real little.

Not to mention the TRILLIONS spent on welfare which includes thousands of departments setup to employ more government parasites. They purposely designed a system that would make sure they had permanent jobs but would keep those in poverty begging for more.

At the same time, 10s of millions did legitimately vote for Biden, voted for this.
You can be sure all the Somalis, Congolese and other African “refugees” will be first in line for slavery reparation handouts.
Thomas Sowell said years ago that when blacks can’t make it in college, they do one of two things, quietly drop out or declare the entire system is “racist” and demand change.
That’s what we have here.
So the deaths of over 300,000 Union soldiers wasn’t payment enough for these fools? Also half of my family didn’t immigrate over to the US until after the Civil War. And what about those who are 8% black according to DNA and Me?
This is flat out ridiculous! It has been more than 160 years since anyone was a slave in this country. Who then are these reparations for? This is just the democrats wasting time and money on silliness, that’s all!

And considering that 99% of slave owners were democrats, perhaps the democrats of today need to dig into their OWN pockets and redeem themselves of their namesakes folly.
Of course it is silly and stupid, but remember, democrats do NOTHING unless it benefits them and furthers their anti American agenda. In this case, it buys future votes by making blacks beholding to them. And it has NOTHING to do with any supposed guilt that they might feel when contemplating what their DEMOCRAT forebearers did...
