I listened in 1988 and the aftermath of Bush defeating Dukakis (Rush called him “The Loser.”)

I also remember him playing the Homeless and Feminist Updates with their theme songs. “Ain’t Got no Home” by Clarence Frogman Henry and “You Don’t Own Me” by Lesley Gore.

Gorbachev was still head of the USSR and if there were stories of liberals loving Gorbachev it was called the “Gorbasm Update” and the theme was the Imperial March from Empire Strikes Back.

I heard Rush the very first day he went national. What was it, like 40 stations? I was so impressed I called a friend and told her she just had to check him out, he was that good.

There were so many good satires in those days, it's hard to choose a favorite, but if I must: The Philanderer.
