With school cancelled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends. Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon. My staff and I are constant communication with state and local leaders to get to the bottom of what happened in Texas.

Last I checked, the TX Governor is in charge of handling emergencies of the type currently afflicting TX.

But some aides will call him there is more Texans suffer or die? That doesn’t look good on news reports.
I guess he can try to spin it and hurry back, but he can’t recover from this screw-up, that simple. I’m actually much more worried about him bringing down the entire Texas GOP (and thereby handing the state to the Democrats), his move was THAT STUPID.

Sounds like kind of a spur of the moment kind of thing. Other people here have been saying this was a long-planned trip that couldn't be cancelled. Maybe they cancelled school for this week back in December?
