I had a calico cat named Sally that was run over in front of my house in Tarzana 25 years ago. She was a tough but loving cat. What a mouser she was. Plus you could run a skill saw by her and she’d just lay there like nothing. She was a man’s cat. And then I had a cat named Monday that was super sweet and could only catch bugs. A couple of pit bulls ambushed her on the front porch and viciously tore her apart. Needlessly to say,I’m not fond of pit bulls or their owners that don’t train them. You’ll get another cat. And it will warm your heart.
My husband and me have three adult boy kitties all rescues (Smokey Joe, Little Bit and Sam) 6 yrs and 1 1/2 yr, and three foster kittens (Princess, Turbo and Nitro) that we rescued from this winter storm now. All doing great each of course has their own personality and attributes.
They are such a joy, and Sam Cat took to the kittens straightaway and watches, plays, bathes and cuddles them. He’s turned into Dad Cat! And he really sacks out with belly - up on the bed when he’s worn out (I’ll post a pic from my other phone).
Thanks so very much for your encouragement, it means greatly to me. God Bless you!
Was born in Pasadena, lived in Sierra Madre before moving to Texas. My Dad and Mom lived in Pasadena, Long Beach, of course Sierra Madre and then we all moved after the Sylmar Quake. I remember Lake Casedas, Salton Sea, Long Beach, Hasting’s Ranch at Christmastime, Shakey’s Pizza, the restaurant at the top of a mountain, and my Grannie’s banana plant.
Tangelo fruit grove out back of our house in Sierra Madre off of Canon (now it’s some highway).
My Dad and Mom towing a float behind their 1966 Jeep with cabover camper that won the Sierra Madre a best in the Tournament of Roses Parade. It was a seashell/ jewelry box with pearls and the Queen and princesses of the show riding within. I’ll get a pic up when I can. Oh, and not to forget Huckfin Day and the trout fishing tournament, I caught the largest fish when I was five!
Going bowling with my mom and her best friend Shirley, going to see The Aristocats at a huge theatre with thick red draperies that flowed. Seeing The Nutcracker in my Sunday best black shiny shoes, white fluffy coat and a skirt and turtletop.
So many good memories of living in CA, I pray they heave-ho Newsome. And other detestable persons.
