(Vanity) Thinking about Krystal Lynn, the awesome little kitty that I put to rest

As I listen to the soft music and watch the scenes shown on a channel of snowy vistas, forests, bubbling creeks and the beauty of sunlight gracing the countrysides, it would be of comfort if I were not terribly missing my little kitty.

I know I've posted a picture and a history of Miss Krystal, and of her struggles and overcoming of later- year complications of arthritis, heart murmur and hyperthyroidism. She lived, literally lived and enjoyed, bring such a sweet hope and light of what one of God's Creations can bring into a person's life--and not only my, but many others.

BUT I've not had a chance to grieve her, really grieve her passing. I've concentrated on the wonderful, joyous times we've all shared, and all her cute mannerisms. Dealing with the excessive winter weather impacts, the search for food, and busying myself taking care of three adult cats previously adopted and three foster kittens that my husband and me brought in from the cold, lest they perish from the sometimes below zero temperatures, has kept my mind 'cushioned'. Kept from the actual blow of knowing it was time to stop Krystal' s suffering--which she was hanging on, for me. She didn't want to leave me alone.

Now that is love. In the midst of great illness, she desired to stay on as long as she could. The veterinary tech that I talk to most frequently, "Cindy", whenever I ordered the special thyroid food or medicine, always asked how Krystal was doing, and many times relayed messages to Dr. Stokes (now retired).

I was going to defer to the advice of a new veterinarian there to engage treatment with fluids, antibiotics and pathology on strange cells he couldn't identify. He advised that she could have a urinary tract tumor. And so I agreed to treatment, went to my parents, and then changed my mind.

It was time to grant that wonderful, beautifully loving and compassionate kitty what she'd given me and my husband and my parents all these years. To rest, and if indeed the Lord God grants the sweet, unconditional loving spirits of certain of His Creation in animal life to dwell in Heaven. I don't know.

But I know Jesus cares about everything we go through, including the loss of a beloved furry companion in life. Lord Jesus, help me through this time. I know You love me more than I can possibly understand, but Your Word tells us over and over again that we can run into Your Strong, Beloved arms for anything.

I love You, Jesus. Can't wait to see You when You Return, as billions are literally crying out for, and the earth itself groans under the bearing of such horror brought by the plague of sin.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Holy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, On Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our Daily Bread, And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory forever, Amen.

Thank you so very much, it is awesome to be able to help and to experience the joy in helping and giving in both animal and people care as well. I and my husband have giving hearts, and I know God helps us with provisions to help others. Even when you think you have nothing, The Lord Jesus’ riches in Heaven are pouring out continually to overflowing!

Was born in Pasadena, lived in Sierra Madre before moving to Texas. My Dad and Mom lived in Pasadena, Long Beach, of course Sierra Madre and then we all moved after the Sylmar Quake. I remember Lake Casedas, Salton Sea, Long Beach, Hasting’s Ranch at Christmastime, Shakey’s Pizza, the restaurant at the top of a mountain, and my Grannie’s banana plant.

Tangelo fruit grove out back of our house in Sierra Madre off of Canon (now it’s some highway).

My Dad and Mom towing a float behind their 1966 Jeep with cabover camper that won the Sierra Madre a best in the Tournament of Roses Parade. It was a seashell/ jewelry box with pearls and the Queen and princesses of the show riding within. I’ll get a pic up when I can. Oh, and not to forget Huckfin Day and the trout fishing tournament, I caught the largest fish when I was five!

Going bowling with my mom and her best friend Shirley, going to see The Aristocats at a huge theatre with thick red draperies that flowed. Seeing The Nutcracker in my Sunday best black shiny shoes, white fluffy coat and a skirt and turtletop.

So many good memories of living in CA, I pray they heave-ho Newsome. And other detestable persons.

I adopted Tasha, a calico cat, when she was 13, so I knew she wouldn’t be with me for very long. She loved to sit on my knee as I sat at my computer reading and posting on FR. She passed away on Election Day 2016 from renal failure, a common cause of death among older cats.

Tasha, what a beautiful name and I know an awesome kitty that gave such love and enjoyment to you, and cat-panions on this earth. Talkative and making sure you weren’t spending too time on the typeable telly :)

A Calico named Sassy was such as well, and would not let me place her on the floor while I got ready for work. It was Sassy in one arm, toothbrush or comb in the other. She firmly let me know when I’d spent for her a bit too much ticks on the clock, as well as Krystal as she was rescued a bit later in years.

Sassy became diabetic and waxed thin, but forged on bravely and was sweetly greeting all with her signature kiss on the cheek and was there to greet my sister and her husband when they took over her care. My brother-in-law cried when she was put to rest.

Your story is another of how God’s Love is emparted toward us through His Created furry creatures, both great and small.

Tasha also made sure I got up to give her breakfast in the morning. Around daybreak, she would jump in my bed, purring loudly. If that didn’t wake me up, she would bat my face with her paw.

Currently, I am friends with a neighbor’s cat, a tuxedo boy named Kirby. He likes to come into my home until I give him some hard tack to entice him out. He never purrs, but he flops around on his back to show his affection.
