Get some better anchovies. My Italian deli has some white ones that come in a glass jar that are excellent. These are excellent too:

On their list of things worse than pineapple - I like eggplant, artichokes and broccoli all - but only artichokes have a place on a pizza! And then sparingly.

I’ve been loving pizza for over 50 years but have yet to taste a pizza with anchovies. Someday, maybe.

One of my favorite pizzas: pepperoni with sliced green olives. The tang of the olives works well with the slightly spicy pepperoni.

Tip: anyone who likes pepperoni should try linquica, a Portuguese sausage with a garlicky flavor.

There’s a place I have not thought of in a long time.

Another Hawaiian pizza w/pineapple lover here...

But I replace ham (which I don’t care for) with cut-up chicken breast and toss on some green & red peppers.

Anchovies have a special level of paranoia - even though I’ve never had an anchovy pizza, everybody you ask to share a pizza with says, “Anything but anchovies!” as if that’s a common thing.

When I became old enough to order my own pizzas decades ago I and everyone I knew was conditioned to order the pizza and request no anchovies...I had never seen and didn't even know what an anchovy was...

Fast forward years later I ordered a pizza with anchovies just out of curiosity...Never again...

Funhouse Pizza, Raytown Mo. Hwy 50. Pepperoni, canadian bacon and beef. It just doesn’t get any better.

Is that place still open??? I ate there as a kid in the 70s...

Thank you for that. I will look into that specific one in the picture.

The pizza place I ordered from had absolutely terrible ones.

I've had anchovy pizza dozens of times. Hamburger on pizza as well.

I'll eat them if that's what the party host ordered, but I won't order either for myself. I like to keep it to about 4 toppings at a time or less so the pie doesn't get sloppy, and there are a lot of toppings that take precedence and preference over fish and burger.

Anchovies and Nickelback. Today will be a day long remembered in FR history. :)

When I first started reading this I assumed it would be anchovies. Let’s get real, who wants to eat a food covered with minnows?

BBQ pizza is also pretty common here too. I’m also fond of some of the specialty Indian pizzas that a place near where I work does. Hot Beef Vindaloo pizza, Butter Chicken pizza, Goat Curry pizza... Sounds strange but by replacing the traditional pizza sauce with a thickened curry version is really tasty and makes a refreshing change every now and then.

Anyone puts tofu on my pizza (or just about anything else) and expect bloodshed.

I’ve thrown away while pizzas because they had anchovies.

I was a pizza chef for a couple years, and never found a one who likes anchovies. They either craved them or despised them.

LOL! If you listen to Rush do you have to have Canadian bacon on it?

Here in Nashville in the dead center of town we have a covered arcade hosting a dozen or so specialty shops. One is 'House of Pizza' but everyone calls it Manny's for the lovable owner. He makes Brooklyn style pizzas but will attempt anything you suggest. I love the calzones massively stuffed with pepperoni and mozzarella. His son operates his own restaurant out in Franklin using mostly the same methods; hugely popular.

Enjoy!

The term Canadian bacon is pretty much an American one. Up here in the great white north you never come across it or very rarely. The term up here is uh...bacon. :)
