I recently came across this clip from the Clinton Years of Rush calling out said President's crocodile tears during the Ron Brown memorial service which did bring a much needed smile to my face.
Now that we're looking back on his life, I thought would be a good time to ask people here for their favourite Rush moments that hold dear to them. Whether he made you laugh or stoked passion in you
“like water to a thirsting soul lost in the desert to hear Rush and to see the miraculous Bake sale turnout”
Thanks.
I’m much older. Dial might have been 1470 or 860.
Or something else.
Lol
Thanks for those memories.
Rush’s update themes were hilarious and always put the joke right where it belonged - on the liberals. Of them all, none could make people could have people fall down and laugh harder than the William Ginsburg update.
This was 1998-99 when Clinton stained the presidency all over Monica and her father hired this clown Ginsburg to represent her. He was a self-absorbed buffoon who in a short time was all over every cable and broadcast news show saying stupid things. Rush’s update theme song was a woman yodeling a ridiculous tune while Ginsburg’s voice was dubbed in the background. People driving in traffic had to pull over and regain their composure before causing accidents on the highway. Unbelievably hilarious!
God bless Rush, a true American original genius!
KFYI is at 550.
Thank you for posting .
Loved his early days when I was astounded to find in the media that someone thought as I did!
Used to listen to him in my car at lunch during the Iraq war for real news.
Had a retired Marine boss at one plant- we couldn’t listen to Rush there because he’d get so angry along with Rush at the issues Rush addressed that he became unbearable.
What a loss. A true genius.
Same here. I took my family to the grocery store this afternoon after the show. When we got back I parked the car and lost it. I bawled loudly for a long time.
In 1992 he started his program by saying “I’m thinking of voting for Clinton.”
My heart sank and I felt betrayed but I kept on listening. It dawned on me he didnt say he was planning to vote for Clinton he was just saying that he was thinking about doing so...I had hope and luckily that was so...
There were already quite a few people on the queue waiting to speak to him most of them dropped off, so when he asked for someone there werent very many left ...
I started listening to Rush in 1990...
Until then I tried to find someone who thought the way I did...there didnt seem to be any on the radio..
the nearest thing i could find was a very late night replay of a liberal guy out in San Francisco who had a 3 hour show and often did it from a street event where he let homosexuals talk...sometime in the 3rd hour he would allow one conservative to speak and then malign him for not agreeing with the liberal agenda before hanging up...I listened to hear that one lone Conservative voice passing on some tit bit of Conservative news so that I knew I wasnt entirely alone...
One night a man asked the radio guy what did he think of Rush Limbaugh? When the radio guy let forth a stream curses and ugly adjectives and hung up I almost danced around the room...there was a Conservative talk show host after all...The guy continued till the end of that last hour to object to Rush so my joy increased with every syllable ...I had to find this Conservative radio man...
I called a radio station in the nearest city to find out if they had heard of this man ‘Russ Limsomething” to find they had him on live every day at 12 Noon...
We went to Dan’s Bake Sale Fort Collins, CO 1993...
I remember that .
My favorite moments listening to Rush were the update themes. One in particular was the feminist update theme with the one “Feminazi” screaming, “We’re fierce. We’re feminists and we’re in your face.” Another favorite of mine was the peace update theme with Slim Whitman’s Una Paloma Blanca playing as bombs were blowing up in the background. Oh, what memories and what fun. Thank you Rush for making talk radio what it is today, and in your case, making it informative and funny too!
I remember that segment about voting for Clinton. Classic Rush.
There you go.
I know that it was the only station that came in and thank God for that.
The Rush rooms, which I presume are no longer around
Dan’s Bake Sale before CO turned hopeless.
Talent on loan from God, which always enraged liberals.
This thread has helped with the pain.
Drive somewhere, sit in traffic, or park the car.
Some other vehicle would have Rush Limbaugh on the radio.
Then “megadittoes.”
I had a similar experience in Atlanta riding with my cousin in his car listening to Rush on the radio. We went there in the summer of 1991 for a family reunion. I was hooked ever since.
