Climate change: Snowy UK winters could become thing of the past

Snowy winters could become a thing of the past as climate change affects the UK, Met Office analysis suggests.

It is one of a series of projections about how UK's climate could change, shared with BBC Panorama.

It suggests by the 2040s most of southern England could no longer see sub-zero days. By the 2060s only high ground and northern Scotland are still likely to experience such cold days.

The projections are based on global emissions accelerating.

It could mean the end of sledging, snowmen and snowball fights, says Dr Lizzie Kendon, a senior Met Office scientist who worked on the climate projections.

Except now we know that global warming causes the polar vortex to make it colder longer.

I tried to warn them about allowing the concentration of CO2 in atmosphere from increasing from 0.040% to 0.042%. Dangerous levels like that stop convection in the atmosphere so no heat can get to space, but even worse it lowers the theoretical height above the ground level where one can expect 100% of long wave radiation will strike a CO2 molecule which is statistically about head height by a few thousandths of a millimeter

Yeah, what is that about? More grants? Lazy research? Garbage in - Garbage out with their computer models? How can they be so wrong so often in my entire life?

When the globull warming scare first came along, I used to post all the 70's predictions that never occurred: new ice age, ozone depletion, over-population, Alcar, cloning, and on...
