Shoplifter!
Out On The YouTube ^

Posted on 02/16/2021 4:18:04 PM PST by SamAdams76

The linked video says this short film on shoplifting was made in 1975 but it actually looks like it was made in the 1960s.

Shoplifting...this is when people walk into a store and take thing without paying for them. Shoppers beware.

"to not confront anybody"

Had a short stint at a sporting goods store (now Chapter 13).

While Corp VP's were touring the store, professionals came in and walked out with several sets of expensive golf clubs.

Yes, we watched them walk out but SOP was to not confront them.

The defunct store was H ermans.

Store Operating Proceedures (SOP) was the law.

My short stint was due to being fired for not participated in the Secret Shoppers' BS.

The Secret Shoppers wanted me to open boxes and "Prove" that 2 Mummy Sleeping bags would not zip together to make one.

This video about current San Francisco describes what amounts to "legal" shoplifting.

Start at 5:40:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HmOIQv0yu-U

Store employees are not permitted to respond at all when they see a shoplifter walk out with merchandise valued at less than $950. That is classified as a misdemeanor, not a felony. If the police are called, they may show up to make a report, but don't expect anything beyond that.

Turnabout is fair play.

Just steal it back.

Just steal it back.

The guy who made the video mentions that possibility.

If a store employee tries to retrieve the stolen merchandise from the shoplifer, he risks being fired.
