Can you imagine the carpal tunnel those magnificent beasts caused? Of course, they probably just called it arthritis.
I learned to type on IBM Selectrics, in school; but all I had at home was a little 1950s-era Remington manual.
I much preferred the way the little Remington worked; the electric typewriters were too slick and touchy.
Last year I purchased a mechanical computer keyboard to bring back some of that experience. The chunky mechanicals make fast typing a lot more accurate.
Have run a calulator since 1956.
Have run a comptometer for years pros 1957 thru 1973.
Have typed on a manual typewriter still—preparing W-2’s, etc.
NO carepala tunnel at all.
Also have had horses for over 35 years, and ridden long distances,50 & 100 miles-— using reins to properly pace a very competitive horse......
