What killed this effort was that President Trump’s Team immediately said that they would call as witnesses Under Oath Pelosi and the Mayor of DC both of whom refused to bolster Police Presence at the Capital when requested after Social Media mobilization efforts by ANTIFA and BLM were in evidence for weeks indicating their intent to cause chaos while dressing up as President Trump supporters.
Once this intent was made clear they backed off. And, they were not the only ones worried about this. The RINO’s pushing the Dem Narrative wanted nothing to do with this either.

There is NO REASON why GOP witnesses can’t be called to testify in other trials, hearings, investigations, etc.

I’m glad that’s over.
Besides a messy end, it was a messy beginning. The hard leftists are making the decisions in the Dem Party.
Who were the seven RINOs that voted against Trump? They need to GO!! Their states need to send them packing in their next elections.
It’s interesting that the story centered on Rep. Beutler’s statement, yet the statement wasn’t printed in the article. It was only a few sentences long.
The obvious reason for this is that the statement actually said nothing at all that was damaging to President Trump’s case. This last ditch Hail Mary pass by the disgraced House Managers not only fell short, it went the wrong direction. It’s amazing how blind the Fake News media really is.
And the fox news idiot breathlessly reported that with this vote there was a tectonic shift in the proceedings. Maybe he should go back and study up on his geology.

After negotiations, Democrats agreed to read Herrera Beutler’s statement into the record and forego witnesses completely.
Calling in witnesses put the fear in the guilty a lot more then the fake impeachment issue would be exposed.
