Sen. Lindsey Graham said he’ll be meeting with former President Donald Trump in the coming weeks to talk about the future of the Republican Party.
The South Carolina Republican said Friday evening that he plans to encourage Trump to work with Republicans to ensure that they take back the House and the Senate in 2022.
“I'm going to try and convince him that we can't get there without you, but you can't keep the Trump movement going without the GOP united,” Graham said. “If we come back in 2022, then, it's an affirmation of your policies. But if we lose again in 2022, the narrative is going to continue that not only you lost the White House, but the Republican Party is in a bad spot
Trump has made it clear that he plans to remain active in Republican politics. He’s threatened to primary Republicans who don’t stand with him, including Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.), and is mulling a potential run for president again in 2024.
“Trump's got to work with everybody,” Graham said. “You got to put your best team on the field. If it's about revenge and going after people you don't like, we're going to have a problem. If this is about putting your best team on the field, we've got a decent chance at coming back.”

Like Kevin mCCarthy? I’ve said it again, if he’s scouting for the enemy, then he’s scouting them as well. Like what Vito Corleon said “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”. It’s hard for a Trumper like Marjorie Greene to get into the devil’s circle if they’re outside..

See when you tell the public to jump, they flip you the bird. When I tell them to jump, they will follow me. Hit up Liz Cheney. McCarthy says shes really popular! Maybe Nikki can carry your water. That Lindsey, he says the darndest things! Trump needs to tell him the Trump movement will keep going IN SPITE of the rinos.
If Trump has really agreed to meet with Graham, I would wager that what he gets from Trump will NOT be what he is expecting.
I suspect that Trump will take the opportunity to encourage Graham to resign immediately or else.
I would be highly disappointed in Trump otherwise.
The ball is clearly in Trump’s favor
He needs to be carefully strategic and methodical
One of things Trump failed to learn was the art of politics
You can’t do hulk smash in every setting you just can’t with that said a huge door is open for Trump and for the GOP too.
I recommend our own LS reach out to the Trump people and offer up historical application along with in depth advice on how to bridge the gaps of every corner.
This is 100% about begging Trump not to back primary challenges to the Liz Cheneys of the world. Which is bulls—t, IMO. If we have “GOP” politicians like Liz and Mittens and Sassy who voice support for the phonier-than-a-three-dollar-bill Dem/media narratives for a nice pat on the head, who needs them? Don’t fall for it, President Trump! Primary ‘em to hell.
It’s more about backing RINOs in the 2022 general election. The GOP knows they can mostly bully their way through the primaries with dirty tricks, cash and the power of incumbency. But they need Trump voters to pull them over the line in the general against Democrats.

The two things are not mutually exclusive. To put your best team on the field you have to replace the weak links.
