Shelley Duvall was forced to perform the iconic baseball bat scene 127 times to give the character a more exhausted look. Afterwards, Duvall presented the director Kubrick with clumps of hair that had fallen out due to the extreme stress of filming.

“Used Cars”

OMgosh. Both my beloved and myself LOVE that movie!
Every time we see a red vehicle on a used car lot, my husband quotes that movie!
I’m not gonna hurt you, I’m just gonna bash your brains in.
Back in college I read the book. Snowed in. A small lodge in Colorado. About 20 miles from that huge lodge in Estes Park that is the model for the movie.
Kubrick was the master.
Barry Lyndon was about the only film of his that did not really click with me.
The book was not only better, it was totally different. This upset Stephen King very much.
The outside shots were filmed at a ski lodge on Mt. Hood in Oregon.
Shining “the book” was far, far more intense than the movie.
The book is far better than the movie. It’s both creepier and had a better message.
