I wonder if they have the equivalent of the girl getting rejected and a group of his men gather together to giggle at how silly she was to think she had a shot with HIM!

I don't think most guys are like that. As I said before, even a top-tier guy might choose to keep a less-than-average girl around as reserve.

A guy who worked at OKCupid did an interesting article on who goes after who, and strategies:

He noted that young women (20-25) are pursued by lots of guys in the age range 20-40, while young guys (20-25) are at a competitive disadvantage (this shifts markedly when the guy turns 30). He advises young guys to look at women in the 30-40 age range.

Yeah, and I noticed that the sky is blue and that it hurts when you stare at the sun for too long.
