This is painfully naïve. Carano has just been effectively blacklisted by the most powerful studio in the world and dropped from a very influential agency. That’s never good for anyone. She’s not mega-wealthy like Mel Gibson nor at the end of her career like Jon Voight. She’s still a struggling actress who is now persona non grata in Hollywood. Worse yet, she’s an action star who will be foreclosed from the two-biggest action franchises in Hollywood, Star Wars and Marvel, both of which are owned by Disney.

The political landscape is going to have to change significantly before her employment prospects improve. Obviously, this is horrible for her, but it will have a very chilling effect on other conservatives and even libertarians in Hollywood. This, of course, is exactly what Disney was ultimately trying to accomplish.

Rumor floating that she will be hired back because of the backlash from viewers upset she was fired for her statements while pedophiles and would be mass murderer are still employed by Disney.

I received a similar, but way smaller, response when I replied in my sister's Facebook page to something she had posted. (As a rule I do not post political things there. I reserve that for FR and other places).

What I did was to comment on the fact that I had cut out a yellow star and placed it on an N-95 mask and wore it one time. I said people looked at me weirdly not knowing what my mask was all about.

After I posted my comment to my sister's page all hell broke lose and my liberal Jewish brother-in-law wrote a venomous 8 paragraph screed, and he finished it off with verbally kicking me out of my own family - with several other blood relatives chiming in.

But my statement was true. There is really no difference between being forced to put a yellow star on your jacket and being forced to wear a face mask in order to enter a store. Both are being fueled by force and fear.

I fully understand Gina's take and I have felt the brunt of stupid people.
