I certainly hope you are right about those ‘free’ states remaining free.

But a lot of people stay where they are because their hearts and roots and people are there - and the land itself is in their blood and hearts.

The word ‘patriot’ originally comes from a Greek word meaning ‘father’.

If you think it’s a ‘weak heart and weak spine’ that decides to stay where it was born - where all of its love and connections are - and stand and fight, then you’re pretty foolish yourself and lacking cognizance of the varied reasons why some people decide to stay put and stick it out.

But I guess it’s just a lot easier to simply run away...

A people/country divided will not stand. No army scattered about in small pockets can win a war. And, make no mistake, we are in a war.
You can console yourself with such platitudes as you’ve stated here to justify yourself but, the fact remains that when you choose the comfort of passivity and hope the Alligator will eat you last you’ve decided that joining a major force remote from your little pocket of the world is just too much trouble and joining forces with your fellow Freedom Fighters is just too much trouble for you.
So be it but, do not attempt to glorify your decision and diminish those that choose to band together in common cause with like-minded freedom lovers to make a more effective stand against tyranny.
