I’ve listened to jazz. To me it’s like twilight zone music to appease the mentally ill. Maybe I was listening to the wrong stuff.
You may have heard “experimental jazz’. ๐๐
Maybe it’s you.
There is a huge range of what passes for "jazz."
Worth listening around. There are a few so-called jazz/fusion things pout there, from Blood Sweat and Tears to Steely Dan and many others. Dave Brubck has broad appeal.
I enjoyed a bit of Chick Corea and Return to Forever. RIP to a great musician.
>> music to appease the mentally ill
LOL... wouldn’t be surprised if most jazz musicians would agree
Things considered jazz vary considerably. Chic Corea was kinda in the middle of real jazz vs suicide/smooth jazz
I like jazz and always have AND I assure you I am not mentally ill.
Look into “Crystal Silence” by Chick Corea and Gary Burton.

A lot more linear than Miles Davis.
He had a band called “Circle” that did all kinds of way out experimental stuff.
His band “Return to Forever” was much more accessible; here’s one of their best:
“Romantic Warrior”

People like all sorts of music. Some like jazz. Some like classical. Some like breast music.

You summed it up for me, too.
I wish the article would have NAMED the type of cancer he had...
Maybe others could be made aware that there is more than lung, cancer...there are many types of blood cancer..many rare and no cure, no treatment...
Sad for all that suffer..Prayers for all, who suffer from all forms of that hated disease ..
I like jazz. Some people say I’m mentally ill.
