Leaders of prominent gun control groups said Wednesday they expect to see substantive action from President Biden on the issue in the near future after a meeting with White House officials.
“President Biden is committed to taking executive action and working with Congress to put in place reforms that will keep this country’s kids and communities safe,” said Peter Ambler, executive director of the group Giffords. “Today’s meeting was a strong affirmation of that commitment.”
Mr. Ambler and other leaders met virtually with Susan Rice, who leads the White House Domestic Policy Council, and Cedric Richmond, director of the White House Office of Public Engagement.
Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, said they’re “confident” about seeing executive and legislative action in the “near future.”
The other groups represented at the meeting were Brady and Everytown for Gun Safety.
“We are pleased that the administration recognizes the gravity of this issue and look forward to continued discussion with and actions by the administration to begin confronting the ever-present threat of gun violence that claims over 100 lives a day,” said Kris Brown, president of Brady.
The Wednesday meeting included talk about violence intervention programs, background checks, and banning homemade “ghost” guns, according to the White House.
Some gun control advocates have been frustrated with a lack of early action after Mr. Biden campaigned aggressively on stricter controls like expanding background checks and banning military-style firearms like the AR-15.

In today’s rump state that is the remnant of what was once the USA, the Constitution is a dead letter, the Bill of Rights is no longer in force, and the Rule of Law has ceased to exist, such that any talk about what is or is not “legal” is just so much horseschitt!
It is true guns in the hands of civilians do claim lives and most of the perps are criminals that have no right to a gun. Laws mean nothing to them as they are criminals. Some gun crimes are at the hands of non criminals. This is rare.
The majority of gun crimes through history have been at the hand of socialist governments.

In addition to continuing to push their 2nd Amendment (2A) protections, pro-2A patriots also need to point out that the states have never expressly constitutional given the feds the specific power to regulate peacetime use of firearms.
”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. In fact, consider that the congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, a constitutional lawmaker, had included 2A when he read the Bill of Rights as examples of constitutionally enumerated protections that the 14th Amendment applies to the states.

So ironically, the only kind of laws that the misguided, anti-2A, Democratic-controlled Congress has the express constitutional power to make concerning peacetime use of firearms imo, is to make penal laws that discourage state actors from abridging 2A protections.

And not only would Biden’s gun control EOs be unconstitutional like many are imo, but lots of lawmakers should have Section 3 of 14A thrown at them since they don't impeach Biden for signing those EOs imo.

I’m just glad that the 2nd Amendment doesn’t apply to me. After all, rights don’t come from the government, and the 2nd Amendment doesn’t confer any rights.

Infringed means to impede in any way thus registration is impeding and unconstitutional.
What you may be thinking of is the government was not allowed to keep records after a background check. Which frankly does not matter because once again background checks are a direct infringement to begin with.
Folks the way to stop this in it's tracks lies at the state level. We just need one state to pass legislation that nullifies ALL federal gun laws in the state. Texas is moving that way and I think Missouri has a bill that would do exactly that.
No matter what state you live in we all need to support these bills with our pocket books.

To reiterate. States can stop federal gun control laws in their tracks but the legislation must leave no wiggle room whatsoever. Wiggle room is how we got here. The federal government has no authority whatsoever to regulate arms in ANY capacity. This has been a fact since the Constitution was ratified and remains today. The states have always had this power and it's time we use it. Once one state nullifies all federal gun laws, other states are sure to follow and the feds house of cards of unconstitutional laws, rulings, and orders will be relegated to the dust bin. The F will need to be removed from the BATFE as they have no authority over the peoples right to bear arms.

BATFE is executive branch. They don't need much encouragement, if any, to draw up and enforce ludicrous rules. FBI likewise. Their job is to round up and persecute people, the more the merrier.
Congress is happy to sit on the sidelines with one part of the chamber carping and the other part cheering. "Nothing we can do about it," and the courts like convictions as much as anybody in the thug government.

In 2020, there were about 39,000 deaths by firearm. About 25,000 of those were suicides. They fail to mention that fact, leaving one to believe they are all homicides.
The time for talking is over.
That was then, this is now.
Scalia, in the Heller decision, held that unconstitutional prohibitions become constitutional by being long standing.
That's the rule of law.
The feds aren't going to start following the constitution as we see it. They follow it as THEY see it, and there is no obligation to be sensible about it.

I think Biden is full of hate for America for not electing him President the other times he ran and is doing his best to destroy it. I wouldn’t be surprised that after 100 days he resigns and spends the rest of his mentally coherent hours bragging about what a great job he did.
Which to me means they are not spineless at all - but in agreement with Biden's orders.

With all due respect to late Justice Scalia, please consider the following.
If I understand him correctly, if it weren't for his 2A tunnel vision imo, same problem that many pro-2A patriots have imo, it would have made more sense for him to argue no express constitutional power to justify peacetime restrictive federal arms laws instead of volunteering "long standing" argument which effectively nullifies Constitution’s Article V imo.
In fact, consider legislation introduced by former Arizona federal Rep. John Shadegg which corrupt Congress wrongly threw in circular file.
