The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits fell slightly last week to 793,000, evidence that job cuts remain high despite a substantial decline in new confirmed viral infections.

Last week’s total declined from 812,000 the previous week, the Labor Department said Thursday. That figure was revised higher from the previously reported 779,000. The numbers point to a still-elevated number of layoffs. Before the virus erupted in the United States in March, weekly applications for jobless aid had never topped 700,000, even during the Great Recession. […]

Thursday’s government report also showed a sizable rise in the total number of Americans who are receiving jobless aid, including through extended benefit programs — a sign that long-term unemployment may be growing. All told, 20.4 million people were receiving benefits in the week that ended Jan. 23, the latest period for which data are available. That’s up sharply from 17.8 million from the week before. Kill energy sector jobs, and allow the borders to be flooded with illegals.

China Joe’s handlers are steering him to purposely wreck the U.S. economy.

Isn't that comparing apples to oranges?
The population during the Great Depression was about 1/3 of what it is now.

Yes, 3/4 of a million losing jobs every week is good news...
In the last year, what’s the change in labor force participation rate?
How many are underemployed?

You’re assuming the folks in India want to come here. Speaking with Indian coworkers, they have no desire to emigrate here for work. Most of them work as contractors with major Indian agencies such as Tata. They’re cheaper to employ and equally skilled.

There’s a ton of Indians around me just outside Philly.
I believe Vanguard outsourced 18000 IT jobs to them after their working here.
Rudest people ever.

Equally skilled?

No superior. In lying, cheating, extreme racism and castism, in body odor and poor personal hygiene.

Job-wise, since they are all lied to get into the US with fake credentials, degrees and job-experience, don’t see how they are equally skilled.
