You remind me of my virgin girl friend who said sex must be boring.
Try cruising on Celebrity. You won't have cramped quarters. As to shuffleboard or "other stupid recreational games," I was having so much fun that I didn't have time for that. Best part of the cruise really was meeting other people in person, something that doesn't happen often enough in this Internet Age.
I don’t mind the vaccine requirement IF it means no wearing masks aboard ship and access to buffets.
Right now only Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are accepted by our CDC.
There are 4 additional vaccines being worked on, and they will seek FDA and CDC approval.
Many Americans will wait to see how the Johnson and Johnson one shot vaccine works out.
We should know at the end of this month. -Tom
Had my first shot of Moderna vax last week, 2nd shot 4 weeks later. It was a piece of cake, and no out of pocket cost. And I have the certificate for vaccine on my name on it. A cruise coming soon in my plans.
I wonder how Moderna and Pfizer got approved in a week under trump after their request and JNJ will take 3 weeks under Biden.
Meeting real people in person...that reminds me of our Mediterranean cruise in 2008. My kids were 17 & 15 then. They still keep in touch with friends made on that ship, and later on toured Europe meeting their friends and did not have to spend on hotels.
The check from JNJ has not arrived yet or cleared yet?
Biden wants to keep us on the ropes, and the one shot JNJ vaccine if approved will help speed things up.-Tom
And unfortunately the counterfeiters will make vaccine certificates for sale for those who need it to fly, or cruise, or for their job, or for other reasons.-Tom
Yes! I had my first dose this Mon, 2nd scheduled, 28 days, then a couple weeks for maximum effect, I see light...
In fact, I’m feeling a little superior already! must be all my little factory cells getting to work...
95% protection against getting sick and 100% protected from getting sick and dying.
No more masks for me, the unwashed will just have to take their chances around me.
Why bother producing counterfeit certificate when getting the vaccine is so painless and cheap?
People will not want to get vaccinated even if it is not painful. They want to be able to travel, and if vaccination certificates are required they will purchase one.
That is going on right now in parts of Europe.
The counterfeit certificates are costing 100 to 300 US dollars in Europe.-Tom
Capt. Tom, I have always preached to my kids, don’t get upset about stupid people. Thank the lord there are so many of them around, other we would have less chance to succeed.
Around 35 million Americans have been vaccinated already, and could explain drops in number of new positive tests. Last time I checked 505 died after receiving vaccine. That boils down to 0.00144% mortality rate.
Whereas nearly half a million Americans have died from covid-19. That equates to mortality rate about 0.157%, which is 109 times greater than from receiving vaccine.
Vaccination shortages will hinder some cruise ship restarts.
Just got this e- mail today here in Mass.; Tom
Dear Patient,
We want to provide you with an important update regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. Because of limited vaccine supply, we are no longer able to schedule any new vaccination appointments for patients at Mass General Brigham vaccine clinics.
If you or a family member has a vaccination appointment already scheduled at one of our clinics, it will continue as scheduled. The state has committed to giving us enough vaccine for all currently scheduled first and second dose appointments.
If you are eligible, you can still get your vaccine at one of the state vaccination sites, local town clinics or pharmacies. You can learn more about scheduling an appointment and find locations by visiting mass.gov or by calling 211. More information about the vaccine can also be found on our website.
We know that this has been a challenging process and we understand your concerns. We are committed to supporting you and your health in any way we can. We will keep you updated as we receive more information from the state.
Sincerely,
Tom Sequist, MD, MPH
Chief Patient Experience and Equity Officer
Mass General Brigham
