Gina Carano is “not currently employed by Lucasfilm,” the company said in a statement Wednesday after controversy erupted over “The Mandalorian” star’s social media posts.
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
Carano shared several offensive posts on her Instagram stories Tuesday night, including one that likened contemporary political differences to the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany.
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children,” Carano wrote Instagram. “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.” The post originated on a different Instagram account.
In another post, Carano shared a photo of a person wearing multiple cloth masks with the caption, “Meanwhile in California…”
Both posts were gone from Carano’s Instagram by mid-day Wednesday. Other posts, including one in which Carano wrote “Jeff Epstein didn’t kill himself,” remained.
The hashtag #FireGinaCarano began circulating on Twitter Wednesday in response to her posts. Many users tagged Lucasfilm and corporate parent Disney in their posts.
Carano is no stranger to controversy on social media. In November she was criticized for mocking people who specify preferred pronouns when she updated her Twitter bio with “beep/bop/boop,” which she later removed.
In December, Lucasfilm announced “Rangers of the New Republic,” a direct spinoff of “The Mandalorian” that seemed to suggest a path for her character Cara Dune, a former Rebel trooper who had become a Marshall for the New Republic on the show. Lucasfilm has not yet announced a cast for the new show, however.
But politics is in to them. Insidious subliminal ways.
What is wrong about her historical accurate analogy?
She was shining a light on the demonization and purge of people on the right with an apt analogy.
The leftist insurgency can’t have their hired help pulling back the curtain.
She also posted a quote from Thomas Sowell a few days ago.
Very true her post is. Just the other day remember the la.times column woman saying even though trump loving nice neighbors did her a favor she basically still hated them. There ya go!
Disney is now firmly on my stay-away list. They can keep their stinking social justice films.
The left in this country is treating us the same way they used to treat blacks.
European anti-semitism was not a 20th century invention.
I thought you weren't supposed to take the helmets off of the Mandalorians.

Can’t be having that!
Quoting a conservative black man is really damaging to “the cause.”
Jews occupied positions of great prominence in pre-Nazi Germany. Doctors, lawyers, political leaders, professors, Nobel Prize winners representing Germany. In a few short years the people accepted the complete removal of Jews from all those areas of civic life, and then their un-personing through the Nuremberg Laws.
Well-played, sir!
Defending the oppressed or making jokes is now “offensive” enough to our authoritarian overlords to cancel people’s careers over. The current Fascists with the power in the US really, really hate being reminded that they are the oppressors. At least all non-authoritarians know which studio’s films to never bother seeing.
And remember folks, the leftists/Dems constantly attacked Trump as a Nazi for wanting our immigration laws enforced, nothing even resembling the mass oppression of political dissenters going on now. If that sort of comparison is denegrating people of the Jewish religion than leftists/Dems are the most guilty of that of anyone and should be firing themselves if that had any principles whatsoever.
She was a successful MMA fighter, until she took up acting.
Then I handed my phone to my wife to read.
It's truth. It is a lesson of history that if you sweep under the carpet simply becomes something that will be repeated. It IS something that's repeated right now.. ‘cept now they say ‘the 1%’.
And that's the funny part about the story; the author realizes it's stupid, it's cancel culture run amok, and points out other ‘scandals’ to try to make that straw appear far more weighty than it was.
She offended the transgender community with her chosen pronouns of beep, bop and boop. So what, HER choice is now invalid because it doesn't conform to some group's wishes? Why can't she identify as a member of beep? If bop wants everyone to refer to boop as such, who the hell is anyone on any ground to dismiss bop's wishes if they want to also do the dance of everyone should be able to choose their pronouns and identity? There could be a whole group of beep out there waiting for someone to take a bold stand and bop is leading the way!
It all boils down to one thing; liberals want to identify the conversation and anything that isn't exactly matching their talking points is a racist or homophobe or whatever the fear of transgenderism is. It's hate speech, because we don't currently support it. No matter what bop thinks or identifies as.
The same thing that always offends leftists......the truth.
Holy chit Batman...
I’ll take the Gina salad...with lots of dressing .. and stuff!!!!
Like....now!!!
how stupid do you have to be to work for the most “woke” company out there and do this? this would be like a pizza hut delivery driver telling everyone pizza causes cancer. it doesnt matter if its true or not, its bad for the company = unemployment line
interesting take
