Almost everyone in the world now has a cell phone.

As for the trailer, tank trucks are constructed of various materials depending on what products they are hauling. These materials include aluminium, carbon steel, stainless steel, and fiberglass reinforced plastic............

MythBusters is no longer on TV.   That would have been a good one to look into.   Could a cell phone signal propagate between a cell tower and the inside of a tanker truck?   My 40 year career in telecommunications with the USAF, ITT, Sprint, MCI rolled into retirement from Verizon after 31 years tells me not a chance.

If a Faraday Cage blocks electromagnetic signals, a solid metal jacket does too.

The truck in the snapshot from the video did not look like it had a fiberglass and plastic composite construction.

Nor is there evidence that that was without doubt the truck in question............

I don't doubt your assessment of the cell phone being able to penetrate whatever container they were in but I have no doubt that this was indeed a call for help by illegals in some sort of container that were suffocating to death.........

I don't find it useful to argue whether or not people are dying in a potential horrible situation.

The growing lack of humanity and compassion on this site is becoming disturbing........
