Some kind of hydrogenated oil, cheese product with stabilizers.

If you are buying the cheapest “individually wrapped” slices you should check because they might be artificial.

Sort of like the cheapest hamburger might be partly textured vegetable protein.

But there is still real hamburger and there is still real American Cheese.
