I think I spoke too soon.
It stopped working so I cleared out what I cleared out before and it still didn’t work. WTF!

Try resetting your wifi router. There will be hole you stick a pin or paper clip into. On internet Look up where the reset hole is. Maybe some use a button these days.
Also try connecting laptop via ethernet cable instead of wifi
you said it happens with other browsers too- so it likely isn’t cache problem
have you tried it in safe mode yet? You can get into safe mode with networking if you follow the advice here i beleive:
https://www.digitalcitizen.life/boot-safe-mode-networking-windows-10/
A couple of quick tests if you’re still having problems.
Assuming that this is webmail using a browser, can you try another browser? Do you get the same results? Do you see older mails in your inbox or is it empty? Are you receiving any messages (either Windows or Yahoo)? Is it possible that you coincidentally have reached your limit for emails?
When you open the link to your mail do you get a prompt to log in or does it just load the page (cached credentials)?
If cached, open the page and then look for the “Log Out” button. Then try logging in again.
You might also try creating a fresh Windows profile. This will eliminate cookies or random settings stuff as culprits.
Good luck!
