Why?
We have data from Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 clinical trials from multiple countries and over 100,000 study participants demonstrating that the vaccines are safe and effective. They keep people out of the hospital and out of the morgue. Why on Earth would we give that up?
Ivermectin can be an effective treatment in a lot of cases. It's not a miracle cure-all. Anyone who tells you it is is either ignorant or lying. The closest thing to a "cure" for COVID-19 is monoclonal antibody therapy (which is what President Trump got), and even that isn't 100%. The vaccines, monoclonal antibody therapy, Ivermectin, and other tools function together to provide layers of protection to keep people alive. Stripping off layers for no reason doesn't make sense.
Banning the vaccines makes less sense than banning Ivermectin.
FDA issued the vaccine under the premise of an Emergency Use Authorization. There were no other treatments when the EUA was issued. Don’t worry, you can rest assured they will not investigate any other cures. Suggest you learn about antibody dependent enhancement before your poked though. Small risk, big impact.
But in reality, FDA still has not approved any treatment or test for COVID-19 and has instead issued what are known as emergency use authorizations, or EUAs. From an outsider’s perspective, the difference between an approval and an EUA may seem like semantics, but EUAs and full approvals are significantly different.
