I spent 2 months last spring rehabbing a baby Box Turtle who'd been smacked by a car tire.

She was only the size of a small apple.

It was a week before she'd even poke her head out, barely

I stopped in the street and raced out to help a turtle across the road. We have nature areas in our community and I wanted it out of the street before the school traffic started.

Turtles are cool animals.

Thanks for helping that little one back to health.

The freak who abused that tortoise should be beaten.

Bravo to you and your compassionate work. We have many box turtles in our neighborhood. They are always at risk crossing roads and we probably rescue a dozen each summer. We take them to a nearby state park and release them where they will hopefully be safe.
