Teachers like staying home...I am sure many of them would be OK with coming back to school in 2022...Next year...
Ms. Shaw...I guess you have no problem with distance learning...But, many of your classmates need to go to back to school and get help in-person...
The school board should ignore these "protestors"...
By the way, Huntington Beach district is a good district...In Orange County, California...
When all is said and done, in some minority/urban school districts, there will be quite a few kids who will not have attended any school or had any learning for 2 years, or more.
What will their prospects be, and what will their neighborhoods be like?
The kids are suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

They wouldn’t if their paychecks were cut off for failure to full-fill their contracts
I think no teaching...no sports...no music...none....
Hey, never go to school again. Stop paying the teachers. Why pay for teaching that is never done? Why should anyone care?
They don’t.
Wrong on all accounts.
I teach at an arts/media in the Bay Area. Administration wanted us back teaching face-to-face (primarily the reasoning was accreditation).
All the students and probably 98% of the faculty said no way in hell will we teach or or students learn on campus for hours on end with a effing face mask, face shield and gloves.
We won this round.
Glad you refrained from calling it “Conservative Orange County”; it’s not been anywhere close four thirty years or so, and the leftward drift continues.
Disappointing, but not surprising.
They need to stop paying teachers if they are not teaching in the classroom. Period.
You would be amazed how many of them will show up to work within a week.
Mr. Hand: What's the reason for your truancy?
Jeff Spicoli: Just couldn't make it on time.
Mr. Hand: You couldn't, or you wouldn't?
Jeff Spicoli: See, there was a full crowd at the food lines.
Mr. Hand: Food will be eaten on YOUR time. Why are you continuously late for this class, Mr. Spicoli? Why do you shamelessly waste my time like this?
Jeff Spicoli: [long pause, but then with complete truth in his answer] I don't know.
Mr. Hand: [Mr. Hand goes to blackboard and writes the words 'I Don't Know', then underlines them] [reciting]
Mr. Hand: I like that. 'I Don't Know.' That's nice. [imitating]
Mr. Hand: 'Mr. Hand, will I pass this class?' Gee, Mr. Spicoli, I don't know! You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to leave your words right up here for all my classes to enjoy, giving you full credit of course, Mr. Spicoli.
Jeff Spicoli: All right!
What if somebody held a virtual strike and nobody showed up?
Would it still be a strike?
