As a parent who just had their OL son sign at a small Christian D2 college with a very nice academic package offer, this type of stuff concerns me.
He wasn’t visible enough to get to a D1 school, but this is a good fit. If NCAA stuff gets tinkered with it could mess up his years ahead.
If that happens I see only about a few dozen schools that could keep a football/ basketball program going. D2 and lower plus over half the lesser D1 schools would be out of the sports business.
Other than a free college degree. π§π§π§π§π§
Say what? Going to college to get an education? I nevah hoid of such a ting!
Not sure how much any of them are learning other than trans pronouns, particularly not athletes that get helped to a passing grade if they can't make it themselves.
Federally Controlled Pro Game
I vote for Rollerball or Death Race.
With the quality of higher education these days, is that really 'meaningful' compensation?
“Other than a free college degree.”
Had this discussion a while back with a friend whose son is currently doing this. I was surprised to see the friend was against compensation.
I’m against any scheme Booker is for but I don’t see why college athletes shouldn’t be paid. Is a student attending on an academic scholarship likewise prohibited from benefiting financially from his field of study while enrolled?
Go home, leftists. Youβre drunk.
The education itself may be worthless but many jobs require the degree.
