Well, what can any of us say?

Why have we seen our birth rates going down?

Some reasons people talk about :

1. Women delaying marriage and having children, to focus on career development. And for those who eventually have children, they end up having fewer children than they may have had in past decades.

2. Many people, both men and women, just don’t want to have children, and look at children and family life as impediments to their own happiness.

3. Birth control, easily available in spite of what people such as Sandra Fluke say, enables people to avoid having children.

4. Social attitudes have changed, such that marriage and family life are not seen as important goals in life anymore.

5. Abortion is seen as a solution to unplanned pregnancy by many people.

Add it all up, and we can see why birth rates have plunged.
