Only other 3 man rock group I can think of with that much success is Grand Funk Railroad before they got a keyboard player. Mark Farner was also a great guitarist.
What about Rush? Granted, their original drummer departed after one album, but their replacement lasted throughout the rest of the band’s run.
Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Rush, and The Police as well.
