I agree with you. I have posted before that I am agnostic about the vaccines and I am in no hurry to receive it. Differences of opinion and the right to express and debate them used to be taken for granted. What makes things different now is the fear and hype about the virus leading people to demand that everyone receive the vaccine or be disqualified from working, shopping, receiving an education, visiting loved ones, ad infinitum. For more than a decade, the “duty” to protect everyone from the slightest risk has encouraged a segue from “should” to “must” in the exercise of government power. You must purchase government health insurance. You must forego peanuts. You must forego homemade snacks at the schools. You must recycle, even if it is useless. You must drive an electric car and you must not use gasoline-powered machines. The vaccine controversy simply ratchets up the usurpation of individual prerogative and freedom.
