What will the silver opening price be? The Sunday evening market opens in 14 minutes so I thought a thread would be appropriate.

FYI, general interest, this is a photo grab of a 2,000# sack of lead scrap. Or, it could be one million dollars in silver, the bag is a little bigger. Pallets are 48" X 40", for a visual reference. Lead or silver, 2K# would not be easy to tote away. Fill it with silver at your leisure, nobody is running away with it in a hurry. But you could stick it in your garage or basement easy. A million 2021 dollars.

Gold would be much more compact for a million dollars, but somebody might run off with it.

According to Kitco some short bailed out at $30.15.

That is quite a hit to take from the Friday close of $26.99.

I bought a dozen Eagles this morning on Ebay, went back to gamble and buy more but Ebay shut it down. That was just for American Eagles.

Why would ebay shut down the sale of American Eagles?

Catalytic convertors are being stolen in our area at a much higher rate according to our Sheriff’s crime bulletin. There’s your modern day platinum miners at work.

Don’t kid yourselves, “they” are going to pull this out of the fire. There is no way in hell we are going to see true price discovery in precious metals.

Silver closed at $24.78 on Wednesday Jan 27. Those who were short the market are getting pretty squeamish right now as silver is now at $29.00.

One futures contract contains 5000 ounces of silver, so those who were short at 24.78 are looking at paper losses of $20,000.

Most say that there is so much silver out there that the price may move, but not by much.
