Not much tonight. Got my nose buried in a ham radio study manual. I finally got an SB-600 speaker/HP-23A power supply combo for my transceiver. Everything seems to power up and the plate voltage is nominal. None of the tubes seem to be bad at first glance. I'm definitely getting output on all bands. Need a mic, a couple meters, and the proper antenna next, but hey, let's not break the bank yet. I need a broadcast license and a shortwave mentor next. The missus got some sort of a waist-high cabinet at a sale a couple weeks ago, she had this idea of making it a coffee/tea/water cooler bar in the kitchen. I was thinking, here we go again. I'm trying to figure out how to offload some of the crap in this place, and she's bringing more in. Well, she was out there going like a house afire today, and when she got done, she actually did it. She found the perfect spot to move the old baker's rack next to the china cabinet in the dining room, moved a wooden cart to a window and found spaces to spread out things that were stacked on top of each other, rearranged everything, and actually opened two room up. I must say, I'm impressed. Then she hung the pictures differently. Maybe it's just the change itself that is refreshing. It still looks like a Texas roadhouse, though. LOL

How much snow you got so far? Allegany and Garrett counties are supposedly the jackpot areas with this one. I got a few pics from home that are about six hours old and it’s already piling up. The local paper said 12”-18” total. One Canadian forecast model predicted a megastorm with almost three feet if the low producing it strengthens enough and moves far enough inland.

We had 5 inches here in Indiana. First time in over 400 days I had to put the plow on my ATV.

Rock it if you got it. Down here in Gator Bait, Alabama, it snows about once every fifteen years. I’d rather be back home with the snow. You can take the boy out of the mountains, but you can’t take the mountains out of the boy.

I’m guessing 5”, maybe six in a few hours before rain starts mixing in.

That’s where it gets icky. The temps will stay below freezing (at least to the west), so whatever comes down as anything other than snow will freeze. My mom’s dog had a vet appointment for an ear infection tomorrow, but she said that unless they’ve plowed and salted, he’s gonna wait a couple days for an antibiotic. We’re up on a ridge and she has an AWD SUV crossover, but at 80 she’s not taking a chance. That winter storm warning is in effect until Tuesday morning, so it ain’t over by a long shot. This is only Round One.

Want a weirdie? I've been so stressed out from the holidays and the extra domestic baggage that came with it, I've lost 13 pounds in the process. And I went off my diet, bigly. I got on the scale at my PCP's office on Friday, and it said 230. I asked the nurse, are you sure this thing is calibrated? She said yeah, it's good to go. My doc said it was from stress. All I've been doing is ignoring food and just drinking beer and ale for the last three months. LOL!!!!! A NEW DIET! WOO-HOO! 🤣 I think the most I eat at once is my gummy multi-vites in the morning. I just nibble the rest of the time. I have a four month regimen of prescription weigt loss drugs sitting here, as well. I bet I'll get down to 200 for the first time in 20 years once it warms up a little.

Mr. and Mrs. North were an amateur detective couple, sorta like a radio version of The Thin Man, Nick Charles and his wife, Nora, of the movies. Mario Lanza was an operatic singer brought to show business by Arthur Godfrey on his radio show.

Frankly that doesn't sound good but I won't be stepping on your happiness. There's a video on youtube where some guy drank only beer for a while, I think he did ok; don't remember.
