Conservatives and patriots understandably have great affinity for the United States military. It has historically won great victories that have both advanced liberty abroad and protected it at home. For close to 80 years, it has been beyond question the most advanced and powerful fighting force on planet Earth. Relative to its potential adversaries, the American armed forces of the past few decades could arguably be the most powerful military that has ever existed in any country at any time in world history.
Most conservatives also instinctively, and understandably, see the military as a reservoir of traditional and conservative values. Sometimes, when conservatives darkly contemplate the possibility that left-wing extremists may try to overthrow the rights of Americans, they console themselves with the thought that the invincible U.S. military will be on “our side.”

And the Navy is in even worse shape
This. While we all praise President Trump's increased military spending, what do we have to show for it?
Yeah, but they can steal our military secrets and research for a fraction of the price it cost us.
I think it’s kind of a problem that our military is taking orders from an illegitimate communist puppet regime.
but somehow we are going to be surpassed as the dominate military super power...
Within two years all of the top brass that undermined President Trump is going to regret it.
Is what a Warrant Officer or 1st Lt. Insignia I see on her uniform?
Yes!... But, never mind their "walk", it's their "prance" that has been developed to incite fear in our enemies abroad...
Military parades, these days, makes one break out in song... Singing YMCA...
Watching Benny Hill, all those years ago, and his military or LEO skits use to make you laugh & laugh...
Now it seems we are watching it all come true...
No longer a laughing matter...
So our woke military will have a tough time against a China who has already bought the US. However, a politicized, work US military would follow orders and decimate patriotic Americans who are lightly armed and increasingly living in a surveillance police state.
I saw a lot of people in military-style camouflage clothing, but I note that the clothing was not all uniform. That is, the camouflage patterns were not the same, sometimes not even on the same individual; the cut of the jackets/coats/shirts were not the same for all individuals — some seemed to be wearing BDUs, some ACUs, some pile ‘bear coats’; the headgear/covers were not the same — some were wearing winter patrol caps, some Marine covers, some knit ‘watch caps’, and so on. Possible explaination: they were not all from the same units; we could be looking at National Guards, from differing States, both Army and Air NGs, plus Marine Corps Reserves, Army Reserves, etc....or even civilian security units (such as GSA Security Guards, or even private security firms —’rent-a-cops’), or even [tin-foil hat time] private individuals in para-military cos-play.
I saw no backpacks of any sort. Neither military issue, military surplus, nor civilian camping equipment. If 1/3 of the individuals were wearing non-standard issue LBE, I don’t see how I could have missed it, but I did.
All of the persons shown in the video are wearing bulky winter clothing. This is going to detract from a sharp Military impression, and make them look to be on the chubby side.
Clearly, the soldiers, National Guardsmen, and Marines are off duty, playing tourist at the Lincoln Memorial, getting their pictures taken with the Memorial as a backdrop, and so on. They are not on parade, nor marching. So you cannot compare their ‘walk or ambulation’ to the spit-and-polish performance of an elite unit (such as the 3rd Inf. Reg.) on a ceremonial occasion.
Ref: the picture of the female soldier/National Guards(wo)man.
She is a member of the Maryland Army National Guard. One cannot tell from the picture her rank, nor the unit, nor what would be her job (MOS) in that unit. She might be a clerk, in which case her physical condition might be less relevant to her job performance than if she were a line infantry. She might even be a raw recruit, who has not yet been to Basic Training yet, and so has not yet undergone PT and conditioning; I went through BCT in 1968 with men who started out in just as poor shape.
She might be top ranking officer for all I know. Would anyone be surprised?
Hey now...
That pretty much sums it up. Look how they shut off D.C. with a wall of military. They’ve become hired security and muscle for the leftist ruling class. Now they’re putting up permanent security fencing like it’s the green zone.
If her coat is an ACU anorack (pull-over outer garment), those coats carried a rank insignia fastened in the middle of the chest. That could be the mostly obscured marking hidden behind the ration tray she is eating out of. In which case, the rank insignia could be either a Warrant officer or a 1st Lt bar.
On the other hand, the collar and shoulders of the coat look more like an outer, cold weather coat, similar to the old M1965 Field Jacket (Why did the Army ever stop using the M1965?). On the Field Jacket, subdued insignia indicating rank and branch of service (e.g. Infantry, Artilary, Engineers, MPs) for officers were mounted on the collar. I am sure that has changed, at least once, since I was last in. I don’t know WHY they keep changing the placement of Rank insignia, it must be confusing to the troops. Maybe that IS why.

Buncha pussies. In Wisconsin we just call this heading home from the tailgate.
