ARIZONA (KVOA) - The Arizona Game and Fish Department shared a Facebook post on Thursday of two wild cats that have been seen in Arizona regions for over four years.
AGFD shared the most recent picture of the Jaguar from Jan. 6 in the Dos Cabezas and Chiricahua Mountains.
This is the same Jaguar that has been seen in this area since November 2016 with 45 documented events, according to AGFD.
This ocelot has been seen in this area since My 2012 with 94 reported events, AGFD said
I don’t think they normally eat WETBACKS.
Saw one once back in the mid 60’s, it come into our fire camp at CHILAO in the Angeles National Forest.
Probably came in looking for food so we locked it in the Camp Supervisors office and called Animal Control.
By the time they got there and caught the critter it looked like Dick O’Connors office had been put through a shredder, 3 or 4 times. :)
Probably somebodies illegal pet that escaped.
Yes.
The Jaquar is considered a “Big Cat”, the only such member of the subfamily, Pantherinae, in the New World, and like their Big Cat cousins — the leopard, the lion, and the tiger, they can roar.
The ocelot is a member of the subfamily, Felinae, which are able to purr but not to roar. They are cousins to, among others, the cougar, the lynx, the bobcat, the cheetah, and the domestic cat.
The Chamber of Commerce has mountain lions?
CoC = Cat of Color!
