There have been at least two separate instances where the victims reported seeing the same two men attempting to steal their dogs.
Imagine you’re with your significant other walking your dog when two men in a car pull up behind you. Both of them, one armed with an AR-15, get out of the car and run toward you shouting, "Give us your dog!"
That's really happening in Houston. Multiple victims have reported two separate incidents of similar crimes.
When Joey Barnhill and his fiancee took their French bulldog for a walk last week near their east downtown home, they never would have imagined the terror they would soon face.
"They both ran at me and they were yelling, ‘Give me the dog! Give me the dog!' and we were scared, and honestly, we didn’t know what to do," Barnhill said.
Surveillance video of the attack is truly frightening.
“The guy had a huge gun pointed right at me," Barnhill said. "Then the other guy, who was a bigger guy, grabbed me and started wrestling me for the dog.”
Then the man with the rifle fired a shot.
"We started to run back to the house," Barnhill said. "In that moment, because I thought, 'These guys are running around the streets with an assault rifle, we need to get home first and foremost.'”
Once they did get home, the men circled their house several times before the police arrived.
The next day, a woman said she found the dog and got Barnhill’s number from the dog’s collar. She said she wanted a reward and arranged a meeting near NRG.
"We had a pretty good feeling that this was a setup," Barnhill said.
Barnhill said he wanted police to go with him but he never got a call back.

They tried to cover that it was a gay couple. The video is blurry, but.
“Barnhill said he doesn’t know if he and his fiancee will ever return to the home he’s lived in for more than a decade. He doesn’t think it’s safe.”
His fiancé is a “He” too.
If the dognappers researched their victims, there's a good chance they recognized subtle signs that they wouldn't be armed.
These include Biden stickers, "hate has no home" signs, a Prius in the driveway, rainbow attire, man buns, and the like.
Somewhere close by there is an evil dog fighting ‘entertainment / gambling venue. These evil people teach dogs to kill smaller animals in order to instill a blood lust in the fighting dogd. when they get to this point of open assault to obtain ‘livestock’, they are extremely dangerous dead souls with twisted minds.
There was a recent episode of Lone Star Law on the History channel about this guy training his pitbulls for hogs. They caught this hog in a trap and knocked all it’s cutter teeth out with a hammer and girl friend filmed it and posted to social media. Someone sent the link to local game warden who tracked down the culprits. Needless to say they went to jail for animal cruelty.
fair enough, but I also hate the term “furbaby”.
“I loathe the term Significant Other.”
I hate the new thing where they say “partner”, even if they’re referring to a spouse. Insulting to normal heterosexual married couples.
Ditto
Oh I don’t know. I have heard men refer to their wife as their partner and I thought it was endearing he would say that.
What’s mailbox money?
“Biden stickers, ‘hate has no home’ signs, a Prius in the driveway, rainbow attire, man buns,”
Ooohhh. I just shuddered. There are people like this, too.
My conceal carry may not go up against a rifle, but once I get home and are threatened my rifles are probably going to be bigger than yours.
Ok you have 3 guns but do your wear body armor.
It would be much wiser to ditch some of the ammo or one of the guns and wear armor.
It will do a lot more for you then more then one gun.
In other news. Houston has lifted restrictions on Chinese and Korean restaurants.
This one seems more like a reward scam. I’d figure a French Bulldog owner might be good for 5 or 6 hundred.
This whole story sounds like a crock.
Check the "Old Blue Book".
What’s mailbox money?
************
Essentially it is money that comes via the mail box when someone
releases/publishes or provides something to the public. A rapper
Nipsey Hussle called it his mailbox money and others picked it up.
>>Barnhill said he wanted police to go with him but he never got a call back.
Sounds like the HPD under Kim Ogg (Soros DA)/Art Acevedo (Police Chief)/Sylvester Turner (Mayor)
>>Is there a market for used dogs?
Yes, returning them to their owners for reward money as the article mentions.
HPD didn’t care about the suspicious call or that the men circled the couple’s home several times afterwards.
“fair enough, but I also hate the term “furbaby”.”
And “rehoming fee”.
And “forever home”. Of course, after a long and enjoyable life, I guess the pet owner could have the pet cremated and keep their urned ashes on the mantle.
