I want diced onion and celery in my tuna fish sangwich
My wife makes tuna salad ....onion, celery, Mayo....Dukes of course, and chopped sweet pickle or relish and lemon,, salt and pepper
On usually white bread or whole wheat
Maybe crackers
Probably key is proper Mayo and best canned tuna you can afford
Albacore chunk at a minimum
Although I grew up on chunk light ....
And pickles. Finely chopped.
For about the first four or five years of our marriage I would offer to make my husband a tuna fish sandwich. He would say no, with a shutter. I would make him some other kind of sandwich and would make me one.
One day he got home before I did and was feeling peckish. I had left some tuna salad in the refrigerator so he decided to try it.
I came home to an empty dish.
Apparently to him tuna salad was tuna (water packed) and gobs of mayo.
My olive oil packed with fresh dill, lemon, Beau Monde, celery, onion and home made pickles with a tiny dab of mayo was just a tad bit different in flavor.
