If the Republican State Central Committee, of any state, approves a censure resolution, then it is the equivalent of the entirety of that state’s Republican Party telling the censured member (of its federal delegation) to “go pound sand.” It sends a strong message - we do not approve of what you did, we strongly condemn your actions, we will not fund your re-election campaign, and we will not vote you back into office. It is a career ending proposition.

If it's a career ending proposition why do they remain in office thereafter? .....I recognize it's ‘the most’ the body can do...but I don't think it will bring any real results including monetarily for re-election or otherwise, unless there's another candidate in the wind to run against them that's better...and few today who are willing.

It's just a very disappointing time in the entire party. I'm still on the fence and willing to give it some time to see if they'll snap together as ‘one formidable force’ IF they're even capable of being so....I have huge reservations that's possible.

In Arizona Republican governor Ducey has been censured, and his political career is over. It is also an indication that the State party is no longer run by the likes of McCain or Flake. Sasse may have just won election, but he should not be given a position of importance in Congress. Nonetheless, he will survive, and likely thrive, because of the excremental Mitch the Turtle.
